What to Expect
During each daily 30 minute session, Keshavi will overview a daily verse, review the correct pronunciation and meaning, and share related stories about Hanuman. We will participate in call-and-response repetition of the verse so that the proper pronunciation is understood, and chant the full Hanuman Chalisa together. After each class, the verse studied that day will be recorded and sent to the group so that it can be practiced prior to the next day’s session. The goal at the end of the course is to have a deeper understanding of the Hanuman Chalisa and to be able to recite it with the correct pronunciation by reading it and through direct memorization.

Why Learn the Chalisa?
The Hanuman Chalisa, written by Tulsidas, is a popular hymn chanted all over India and the world in devotion to Hanuman, the monkey God who is the servant of Lord Ram. Hanuman is a mystical, magnificent, effulgent, compassionate, loving deity in the Hindu tradition who is most known for his pure devotion to his God, Ram. He is the epitome of loving, selfless service (seva) to Ram and to all who seek his shelter.
To chant the Hanuman Chalisa is to offer your personal loving respects and love to Hanuman and Ram. It is said that by chanting the Chalisa, all obstacles in life can be overcome and the devotee will achieve bliss. Because devotion to Hanuman is equal to the devotion of Ram, chanting of the Hanuman Chalisa also invokes the energy of Ram; pure unconditional love and dharma.
Chanting the Hanuman Chalisa is akin to invoking the pure energy of unconditional love, selfless service, and loving devotion - the purest example of Bhakti Yoga in the modern world. Daily chanting of the Hanuman Chalisa is said to invoke the greatest blessings in ones life, knowing that there are no obstacles that cannot be overcome with Ram’s grace.
In short, the Hanuman Chalisa is one of the most powerful hymns devoted to one of the most powerful deities in Bhakti Yoga. Understanding and knowing the hymn will bring countless blessings to your life.

Hi, I’m Keshavi!
In 2018 and 2019, I was blessed to spend time on Maui, Hawaii with Ram Dass, Krishna Das, and the local Maui Neem Karoli Baba satsang. During that time with the community, I was deeply immersed in Bhakti Yoga and specifically devotion to Hanuman and Ram. Within a span of three months of brief study, weekly kirtans at Ram Dass’ home (now Hanuman Maui), and then simply listening to the Hanuman Chalisa on repeat during my drives around the island, the hymn mystically came to me and I was suddenly able to recite it by memory.
After leaving Maui and living in India for about a year, yearly trips to India since, and now being the caretaker of Hanuman CT in Middletown, Connecticut, I chant the Hanuman Chalisa multiple times daily to our beloved Hanuman deity. Leading weekly kirtans; I want more to experience the elevation and love that is felt through memorization of and by chanting this sacred hymn.
While everyone has a different method to memorizing (hearing, reading, writing), it is through my experience and by hearing how others learned, that I’ve curated a daily program that will assist you in not only learning about Hanuman and the correct pronunciation of the lyrics in the Chalisa, but in memorizing the entire 40 verse hymn and dohas yourself.
My goal is to connect as many people as possible with Hanuman, Ram, and Sita so that you too can receive the mercy of the Divine in your life. It is so powerful to chant the Hanuman Chalisa together; the more people that understand it and can chant it, the higher we will raise the consciousness of the world.
I am so excited to share some of the blessings that I’ve received with you. Join me on a five week journey directly to your heart.
